Farm to Fashion
At Fashion Bay Impex, we have a laser focus on our industry’s biggest challenge – traceability - so that we can guarantee social and environmental sustainability, as well as best practices in animal welfare, over the long term.
We trace our leather from farm to fashion, making sure that every step of the process is ethical and sustainable. We have been working steadily towards our 100% target for traceability up to the farm by 2030.
Sustainable Best Practices
An important part of our commitment for sustainable best practices is that we promote metal / chrome-free tanning as an alternative to traditional methods. The materials and resources used, meet all the necessary test requirements of international industry standards.
We have clearly defined our sustainable development targets, and we’re committed to:

Developing new products and chemical processes that are primarily made up of sustainable raw materials and do not contain toxic properties

Reducing energy and water use, and seeking alternate uses for any by-products

Working towards improving leather's sustainability properties during and after use: longer service life, lower wastage, and strong recycling options
Code of Ethics
At Fashion Bay Impex, we place ethics at the heart of what we do, and the principle of trust is essential to the sustainable development of our business.
We ensure strict compliance with all applicable laws and regulations in this area by defining necessary policies and procedures, and supporting all our employees accordingly.
We work with LWG Gold certified tanneries and all chemicals used are made sure to be REACH compliant.
The factories hold ISO 14001 and 9001 certifications for environmental management.
